This is our dedicated piano storage facility, located in North Dallas and designed specifically for storing acoustic pianos. Each instrument is wrapped and secured while maintaining stable temperature and humidity levels year round. The space is clean, well lit, video monitored and managed exclusively by our in house piano team, ensuring your piano is stored carefully and deliberately, not stacked or treated as general freight. The facility is monitored after hours and managed exclusively by our in-house piano team.
PIANO STORAGE WITH THE LEGS OFF
Yes — a grand piano can be safely stored on its side when it is properly prepared and supported. In fact, this is the standard method used by manufacturers, piano dealers, and restoration shops. The structure of a grand piano is designed to carry far greater load from string tension than from its own weight, so resting on the rim does not harm the instrument when it is positioned correctly.
The concern people often hear comes from situations where a piano is leaned improperly, unsupported, or exposed to poor humidity conditions. Damage in those cases is caused by handling or environment, not by the orientation itself. In a controlled storage setting with proper padding and support, storing a piano on its side is normal and safe.
